Terms of Use

Rabbit mascot wearing a crown

These terms apply to anyone who uses qrcodegratuito.com.br, QR Code Free Forever, run by GROWA Serviços e Treinamentos Ltda., CNPJ 64.778.625/0001-61, headquartered in São Luís (MA), Brazil. The essentials: the generator is free, the fixed QR code you create is yours and never expires, and you are responsible for what you put in it. Using the site means agreeing to the rules below.

Quick summary
  • The service is free, requires no sign-up, and is provided as is.
  • The fixed QR code doesn't expire and doesn't depend on the site: the content is stored in the code itself.
  • You are responsible for the content of your QR codes, and scams, phishing, and illegal or misleading content are prohibited.
  • Always test before printing: we are not liable for prints made without testing.

What does the service offer?

A free QR code generator with 9 types (link, app store, WhatsApp, contact, Wi-Fi, location, event, email and phone), color and shape customization, automatic scan testing, and PNG and SVG download. You don't need to create an account, and commercial use of the QR codes is allowed.

The service is provided “as is.” We work to make everything run well, but we don't guarantee that the site will always be online, free of errors or fit for any particular purpose. We may improve, change or discontinue features of the site at any time.

The fixed QR code is yours and never expires

With the fixed (static) QR code, the content is stored in the code itself. It doesn't go through our server, has no scan limit, and keeps working even if the site changes or goes offline. There is just one catch: if the QR code leads to a link, the owner of that address, not us, is the one who keeps the link online. Learn more in how the generator works.

You are responsible for the content

You decide what goes inside each QR code and you are responsible for it. Use only links, texts, brands and data that you have the right to use; if you put another person's details in a contact QR code, make sure you have their permission.

It is prohibited to use the site to:

  • run scams, such as fake payment requests or a QR code stuck over someone else's QR code;
  • phishing, meaning pages that imitate banks, stores or government agencies to steal passwords and data;
  • spread viruses, malicious software or any illegal content;
  • mislead people about who you are or where the QR code leads;
  • violate the rights of others, such as trademarks, copyrights and privacy;
  • try to break into, overload or interfere with the operation of the site.

Because fixed QR codes are generated in your browser, we don't see or store their content and have no way to deactivate them. If you know of a QR code being used for a scam, let us know through the contact page and contact the authorities as well.

App Store QR Code rules

The App Store QR Code is the only type that goes through our server. It only accepts apps published in the official stores (App Store and Google Play), and the code carries just the app's identifier, never an arbitrary address. We may deactivate a QR code of this type in case of abuse, such as a malicious app, a scam or any use that violates these terms. If the app is removed from the store, the QR code no longer has anywhere to lead. Scans are counted anonymously, as explained in the privacy policy.

Test before you print

The generator has automatic scan testing, but it is no substitute for a real test. Before printing, and especially before a large print run:

  1. check that the content is right (link, number, password);
  2. print a proof at the final size and on the final material;
  3. test with more than one phone, at the distance from which people will scan it.

We are not liable for prints made without this test, or for errors in the content you typed.

Brand and mascots

The name QR Code Free Forever, the brand, the logo, the mascots, the look and feel and the texts of the site are ours and protected by law. You may not copy them or use them without permission, especially to impersonate the site. The QR codes you create, on the other hand, are yours: use them as you like, including commercially. QR Code is a registered trademark of Denso Wave Incorporated.

Third-party ads

The site's ad spaces show notices from the site itself and may show Google AdSense ads or ads from other companies. We don't control the content of third-party ads or the products and services advertised, and any purchase or contract is between you and the advertiser. Seen a suspicious ad? Tell us through the contact page. How ad cookies work is explained in the cookie policy.

Usage measurement

To find out what is useful, the site counts visits and clicks (such as those on the Generate button and downloads) anonymously, without cookies and without storing IP addresses. The details are in the privacy policy.

Pro and the free account

The free account is created by signing in with Google or with email and password, and it unlocks your logo in the middle of the QR code and, when they arrive, 2 trackable QR codes. It is one account per person, you are responsible for keeping your password secret, and you can delete the account whenever you want in My account. By adding a logo, you declare that you have the right to use that brand. We may suspend or delete accounts used for scams or to violate these terms.

Pro is still on its way and will have its own terms, which you will be able to read before signing up. Joining the waitlist doesn't oblige you to anything. The fixed QR code stays free forever, with or without an account, with or without Pro.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses caused by the way you or other people use the QR codes, by the content of the sites and apps they lead to, or by periods when the site is offline. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law gives you, including those under the Consumer Protection Code.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the site changes. The date of the latest update is at the bottom of the page, and important changes will be announced prominently on the site. If you keep using the site after a change, the new version applies to you.

Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, including the Consumer Protection Code (Law 8,078/1990). If there is any dispute, the venue is the courts of your place of residence. Before that, talk to us through the contact page: a lot gets solved with one message.
